Pit and fissure provides a protected niche for plaque (food debris + bacteria) accumulation.
Pit and fissure sealant is a material that is introduced into pits and fissures of caries (cavity) susceptible teeth, thus forming protective layer to prevent cavity.
Usually applied on erupting deciduous or permanent molars

Prevention of Cavity - CCP-ACP (TOOTH MOUSSE) Application
Especially useful for young babies where fluoride products are contraindicated
It is applied to the teeth twice daily with the finger to provide a surface film that will raise levels of essential minerals (calcium and phosphate), as well as inhibit the growth of caries causing bacteria
Safe product to use for babies teeth, is well tolerated by children and tastes delicious
For Children with initial white spot cavities on milk teeth, brush with a low fluoride toothpaste (400-500 ppm) and then apply a coating of Tooth Mousse using the finger to cover the white cavity spots and leave in situ whilst sleeping
For children with Early Childhood Caries/ Nursing Bottle Caries, Tooth Mousse can be used nightly before sleeping
Prevention of Cavity - Fluoride use
Semiannual application of fluoride varnishes or gels is advised for healing and remineralization of cavities.
Method for fluoride use is very simple, fun and only requires cleaning of all teeth and 4 -5 minutes application.
